Ellie's Review
I give this book a generous 3 stars - the overall plot I liked, but Gruen's execution of it was very disappointing. If she would have kept to the general plot without adding in things such as porn stars, Russian prostitutes, and meth labs I would have enjoyed it more. I felt like she had a good story then spruced it up for the tabloids. I know this will be a best seller due to the popularity of Gruen's Water for Elephants (I didn't finish that one due to the graphic sex scenes but did like the story otherwise), but I think it will fall short of people's expectations. It was still a nice read though.

Book Summary
After the bombing of a language lab working on establishing communication with bonobo apes through sign language, a few people step up to protect these animals.
